Nothing can be more upsetting than to find pesky bugs running amuck in your new software. They can cause all kinds of problems, eating up time and money, as they chew through your software....
The Software Bro Code
If you watch How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris’ character, Barney has a running list of Bro Codes. In fact, he also has a book called The Bro Code, listing out the official code of conduct between men. I was thinking that it might be fun to have an official code of conduct between software teams. Shall we call it The Software Bro Code?
Here is the collection that we have so far:
Software Bro Code #125: Thou Shall Not Use Thy Developers as Testers
Software Bro Code #236: The One Who Finds My Errors is My Friend
Software Bro Code #352: Thy Software Testing is a Noble Profession
Software Bro Code #478: Thou Shall Know Thy Requirements Before Writing Code
Software Bro Code #494: Thou Shall Not Use Thy Help Desk As A Means To Test Software
Do you have any other good ones? Comment below. I’d love to hear them. You never know, maybe it will become an official Software Bro Code.
