An important message from Jeff Van Fleet, Lighthouse’s President and CEO, on our company’s response to the destruction caused by hurricanes in 2017.
Every year, we donate a portion of our proceeds to a local charity of our choice.
I wanted to talk a little today about how we help each other and how we can help ourselves. The hurricanes this year have been unbelievable, affecting thousands of lives in the United States and the Caribbean. I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe as we all continue to send our thoughts and prayers to everyone that has been impacted.
Amidst such destruction, it has been encouraging to see people and organizations stepping up and putting their differences aside to help. Here at Lighthouse, we are trying to do our part as well. Every year, we donate a portion of our proceeds to a local charity of our choice. This year, however, it feels like there’s a bigger need outside our hometown. Therefore, we are choosing to support the hurricane relief efforts to repair and rebuild homes and businesses, and help these families get their lives back together. In addition, we are offering free office space with full amenities for any persons and small companies that have been displaced. Please pass the word as we want to help as many as we can.
In difficult times like these, I often look for opportunities to find comfort and peace. Here are a few quotes that resonated with me.
“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations” – Anonymous
“Storms make trees take deeper roots” – Dolly Parton
“Every struggle in your life has shaped you into the person you are today. Be thankful for the hard times, they can only make you stronger.” – Anonymous
“What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls the butterfly.” – Richard Bach
“The secret to change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” – Socrates
I hope these thoughts help you a little, regardless of the struggles you are facing.
